SIA, Cathay Pacific further extend Middle East flight suspensions

Dhaka: Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Cathay Pacific have extended their Middle East flight cancellations due to the geopolitical situation in the region. Both carriers had earlier planned to resume services sooner, but the suspensions will now continue for several more months.
In their respective official statements, the airlines said they are closely monitoring the evolving situation and advised passengers to check the latest flight information before traveling, as more schedule changes could follow.
Singapore Airlines
The Singapore-based carrier has extended the cancellation of its Singapore-Dubai flights, SQ494 and SQ495, until December 1. The flights were previously cancelled until October 24. It said other flights may also be affected as the situation remains fluid.
Passengers on the cancelled flights can claim a full refund for the unused portion of their tickets. Those who booked directly with the airline can submit an Assistance Request Form on its website.
Passengers who booked through travel agents or partner airlines should contact them for help.
The airline also urged customers to update their contact details through the "Manage Booking" function or subscribe to mobile notifications for flight status updates.
Cathay Pacific
The Hong Kong-based airline has extended the cancellation of its Dubai and Riyadh passenger services up to and including January 31, 2027. The flights were earlier cancelled until November 30. It will continue to waive rebooking, rerouting, and refund charges for existing bookings.
The waiver covers tickets for travel to, from, or through Dubai, Riyadh, and Doha that were issued on or before September 28. The original travel date must fall between September 28 and March 31, 2027.
Passengers must change their tickets before March 31, 2027, and complete the new journey by May 31, 2027. New travel dates are subject to seat availability.
Tickets to or from Dubai and Riyadh must be booked on a Cathay Pacific-operated flight. Doha tickets must be issued by the airline and booked on a Cathay Pacific-marketed flight.
Any difference in fare or taxes between the original and new itineraries will still apply. The arrangement does not apply to tickets that have already been fully or partially refunded.
