Thai Airways expands frequent flyer program Royal Orchid Plus

Bangkok
: Thai Airways has unveiled a major overhaul of its Royal Orchid Plus frequent
flyer program, introducing new mileage redemption options, expanded member
benefits, and enhanced digital features as part of efforts to improve customer
loyalty and travel flexibility.
The
airline announced the changes under the theme "ROP: The New Chapter
Begins," describing the update as one of the most significant enhancements
to the 33-year-old loyalty program.
Among
the new features is ROP Smart Miles Pay, which allows members to pay for Thai
Airways tickets using a combination of cash and reward miles or redeem miles
for the full base fare, excluding taxes and fees, while continuing to earn
miles on eligible bookings.
Starting
July 13, the carrier also launched ROP Smart Miles Pay Lite, enabling members
to redeem miles for selected Business Class and Economy Class tickets on
flights departing Bangkok. The option provides immediate seat confirmation
while allowing travelers to continue earning miles.
Thai
Airways also announced broader improvements that include easier qualification
requirements for Silver, Gold, and Platinum status beginning August 5, 2026,
bonus miles for eligible members starting in 2027, complimentary onboard Wi-Fi
for all membership tiers, and dedicated check-in counters for Silver members at
Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport.
