US Ambassador explores Barishal’s scenic waterways by boat

Dhaka: US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T. Christensen has explored the scenic waterways of Barishal by river boat, highlighting the beauty of Bangladesh’s riverine landscape.

The ambassador shared his experience in a social media post on August 9, saying he was enjoying his visit to the southern city known for its rivers, canals, and waterways.

“Visiting the land of scenic waterways by river boat. I’m enjoying being in Barishal!” Christensen wrote.

Barishal, often described as one of Bangladesh’s most water-rich regions, is crisscrossed by rivers and canals that have long been central to local life, transportation, and commerce.

Christensen’s boat journey offered a glimpse of the natural beauty of the region, where waterways remain an integral part of everyday life and provide a distinctive way to experience Bangladesh beyond its major cities.
