Dhaka: US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T. Christensen congratulated Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M. Rashiduzzaman Millat on his recent appointment and discussed opportunities to support the expansion of Bangladesh’s aviation sector.
During a meeting, the ambassador and the minister discussed how Boeing aircraft and US airport security technology could support the growth of the country’s aviation sector, according to a social media post from the US Embassy in Dhaka on September 16.
The discussion comes as Bangladesh seeks to expand its aviation infrastructure and strengthen air connectivity, with the government also exploring options for adding new aircraft to the national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ fleet.
The US Embassy said the two sides discussed Boeing planes and airport security technology in the context of supporting the expansion of the aviation sector, which it described as a vital part of Bangladesh’s economy.
