AKM Tareq Joins MTB as DMD
Tareq brings nearly three
decades of experience in the banking sector, with expertise spanning branch
banking, corporate banking, and credit risk management. Before joining MTB, he
served as Senior Executive Vice President and Senior Zonal Head at BRAC Bank
PLC, where he contributed to business growth, branch banking transformation,
and operational efficiency.
Throughout his career, he
has held senior leadership roles at several leading financial institutions,
including BRAC Bank PLC, Eastern Bank PLC, Bank Asia PLC, and IFIC Bank PLC.
Academically, Tareq holds
bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Marketing from the University of Dhaka,
along with an MBA in Digital Technology Management from Royal Roads University
in Canada. He is also an Omega Certified Credit Professional.
In his new role at MTB,
he will oversee branch banking operations, focusing on strengthening business
performance and expanding the bank’s retail and service network.
The appointment reflects
MTB’s continued focus on experienced leadership to support its growth and
operational strategy in Bangladesh’s competitive banking sector, as per a
release.
