Bangladesh introduces online system for visa-on-arrival applications

The new digital facility
has recently been introduced at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport,
according to Kamrul Islam, superintendent of Immigration Police at the airport.
Under the system,
eligible foreign passengers can access the application portal by scanning a QR
code and submit the required information ahead of their journey.
The initiative is
expected to reduce processing time at the airport, where travelers previously
had to complete visa-on-arrival applications after landing and wait for
immigration officials to verify their information.
Authorities said travelers
will also be able to complete their arrival or departure cards online before
reaching the airport.
The move is part of
efforts to streamline entry procedures for international visitors and reduce
congestion at immigration counters.
Foreign passengers
wishing to use the new service can access the online application portal through
the official Electronic Arrival Card system.
