CAAB Chairman attends ICAO’s Global Symposium as panel member

Dhaka: ICAO organized the Global Symposium on the Implementation of Innovation in Aviation through a web seminar on December 8-11 which Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman, Chairman, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh attended as a panel member.
The symposium saw ICAO’s role in increasing innovation in the aviation industry in the post-COVID-19 era and how the aviation authorities and airlines can reinstate operations implementing innovation.
At the seminar, CAAB Chairman urged ICAO to play a stronger role in this post-covid era to continue operations as a regulatory body and other countries to work together for the development of the aviation industry. For this, he said he expects all member countries to support each other and follow ICAO’s lead to implement its goal No Country Left Behind.
Moreover, to develop aviation professionalism among the next generation, CAAB Chairman proposed to implement Gender Equality in the industry.
Among the representatives from the Asia Pacific at the symposium, Captain Chester Voo, CEO, Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia, and Tinnagorn Choowong, Executive Vice President, AEROTHAI, among others.
Arun Mishra, Regional Director of ICAO presided over the event which was live telecast on ICAO TV.
