ICSB and JU Partner to promote academic excellence and professional development
The Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh ( ICSB) and Accounting and Information Systems (AIS) of Jagannath University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster academic excellence and professional development.
The partnership aims to strengthen collaboration in the areas of professional education, research, training, knowledge sharing, and capacity building, thereby bridging the gap between academic learning and professional practice.
The MoU was signed on June 17, 2026, at the ICSB Council Room in Dhaka by Rafiqul Islam FCS, Senior Vice President and President (In-Charge) of ICSB, and Professor Dr. Shamsun Nahar, Chairman of the Department of Accounting and Information Systems, Jagannath University.
Among others present at the signing ceremony were Dr. Sabina Sharmin, Treasurer, and Professor Dr. Md. Ali Noor, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, Jagannath University. Representing ICSB were Md. Sharif Hasan FCS, Vice President, and Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun FCS, Council Member and Member of the Education Committee, Md. Shabbirul Alam Chowdhury, Secretary and Chief Executive Officer.
Speaking on the occasion, the speakers underscored the growing importance of academia-industry collaboration in developing future-ready professionals equipped with technical expertise, ethical values, and leadership capabilities to meet the evolving demands of the corporate sector.
Both institutions expressed confidence that this strategic partnership would create new opportunities for collaborative research, professional development initiatives, student engagement, and the promotion of good governance and corporate excellence in Bangladesh.
The Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB), established under the Chartered Secretaries Act, 2010, is the sole statutory professional body in Bangladesh mandated to develop, promote, and regulate the profession of Chartered Secretaries and Company Secretaries in the country.
