Verteil holds NDC workshop for travel agencies in Dhaka

Dhaka: Verteil Technologies, in collaboration with its general sales agent in Bangladesh, Saimon Global, held an agency networking workshop on New Distribution Capability (NDC) technology at a city hotel in the capital on October 14.
The session brought together over 80 registered travel sellers, offering them an opportunity to directly engage with the company's senior officials, share their experiences of what is working well and where they need support, and discuss how the NDC technology can support travel agencies nationwide.
Biju George Varghese, Associate Vice President of Global Sales at Verteil; Vineet Suryawanshi, Director of Sales of the company; and Yami M Saleh, Managing Director of Saimon Global, attended the event alongside other senior officials from both organizations.
Speaking at the workshop, Varghese said Bangladesh’s travel industry had shown a willingness to embrace NDC since Verteil entered the market in 2023. He noted significant progress in airline adoption and technology, with the platform now offering expanded capabilities.
He said NDC goes beyond reducing distribution costs, enabling airlines to showcase products better and travel sellers to access richer content. He urged industry stakeholders to embrace technological change and work together to improve airline distribution and the travel-selling experience.
Verteil describes it as a pioneer in enabling travel agencies in Bangladesh to adopt NDC technology. Several leading travel sellers in the country have been activated on the NDC channel through the platform over the past three years.
The engagement has connected them with major airlines across the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Africa, while Verteil’s local partner, Saimon Global, provided sales and operational support.
Jerrin Jos, Founder and CEO of Verteil Technologies, said Bangladesh is an important market for the company, and it is pleased with the progress made since 2023. He added that having reputed travel sellers in Bangladesh on the platform is a significant milestone, and the company values the trust placed in it.
"We invite more travel sellers in Bangladesh to adopt NDC through Verteil and benefit from our growing network of airline partners," he said, noting that Saimon Global ensures support as a local point of contact when agencies start and grow their NDC business.
Verteil said the conversations held during the agency workshop in Dhaka are expected to help shape its ongoing work in Bangladesh as it continues to drive NDC adoption and strengthen its relationships with the travel trade.
The travel technology company works with more than 85 airlines worldwide, including United Airlines, Lufthansa, British Airways, Air France, Turkish Airlines, Air China, and Singapore Airlines, among other big names. It supports the carriers' distribution outreach initiatives and helps them reach travel sellers across markets.
Travel sellers can integrate Verteil’s Universal APIs within their own booking engines to add content from available NDC airline partners alongside their existing content, without requiring separate integrations with each airline.
For those without their own booking engine, Verteil Direct Connect offers a next-generation booking platform built for modern airline retailing.
The platform brings shopping, offer comparison, booking, ticketing, and post-booking servicing into a single tool, helping agencies offer customers more choice and manage their travel needs from start to finish.
