Dhaka: Cargo carrier My Freighter Airlines will be launching operations to and from Dhaka, said the airline’s Regional Cargo Manager Wagih Mohamed Habib, during a networking event held at an elite hotel in the capital on May 14.
Bangladesh will be the first market in this region to operate in for the airline based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. “The Bangladesh market has plenty of demand. However, the number of freighter operations is poor here, which leads to less capacity and more room to grow,” said Habib.
Initially, My Freighter will transport Bangladeshi cargo to Europe and Africa. By the end of the year, operations from Bangladesh to America and Canada will also be introduced. They will be receiving delivery of two Boeing 777s by then, which will be used for operations in the Bangladesh market, said Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman, Managing Director of Aerotech Aviation Ltd (the global sales agent of My Freighter in Bangladesh), while delivering his speech.

Kabir Ahmed, Chairman of Conveyor Group, lauded the entry of My Freighter into the Bangladesh market.
“The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh has assured us that My Freighter will soon be approved for operating in Bangladesh,” informed Ahmed while addressing the event.
“To increase the capacity of the country’s airfreight market and facilitate the industry, we have brought My Freighter to Bangladesh. Now, the country can air freight directly to Europe.” he said.
It may be mentioned here, My Freighter has all certifications required to transport air cargo to the European market.
For the first year at least, My Freighter will offer lower rates to the freight forwarding partners, mentioned Kabir Ahmed.
