Dhaka: Dubai based carrier Emirates on March 17 celebrated the 101st birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with officials of the airport and civil aviation authority.
High officials from the respective organizations celebrated the occasion with a cake cutting ceremony.
Emirates Country Manager Bangladesh Mohamed Alhammadi, Sales Manager Mohammad Mohizur Rahman, Charge d’ Affairs of the UAE Embassy in Dhaka Abdulla Ali Al-Hamoudi, CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman, and HSIA Director Touhid-ul Islam attended the ceremony, among others.
As part of the celebration of Bangabandhu's 101st birthday, Emirates further provided exclusive jackets with special boarding pass pockets to the passengers flying with the airline today. The boarding passes issued to the passengers today by the airline also carried a message wishing Bangabandhu a happy birthday.
