Nasser Rahman elected BIHA President, Ahmed Yusuf Walid Vice-President
According to a circular issued by the association on July
25, the new executive committee was elected unopposed under Rule 24(1) of the
Trade Organizations Rules, 2025, as the number of valid candidates matched the
number of elective positions.
The newly elected Directors are Md Shawkat Hossain,
Director of Maple Leaf Hotels and Resort; Arifur Rahman, Managing Director of
The Palace Luxury Resort; Ahmed Hossain, Director of Fars Hotel and Resorts;
Saeed Ahmed, Managing Director of Q Hotel Dhaka; and Rashed Mahmud, Managing
Director of Grace Cox Hotel and Resorts.
The executive committee will serve a two-year term
from 2026 to 2028, representing Bangladesh's international-standard hotels and
working to advance the country's hospitality and tourism sector.
