Thailand seeks new int’l routes, AOT holds talks with airlines

The event took place from
October 21 to 23, with AOT President Paweena Jariyathitipong leading a
delegation of senior executives and business development and strategy
representatives.
Discussions focused on
potential new routes, increased flight frequencies and commercial partnerships.
Participants also examined aviation market trends, demand for travel to
Thailand and the commercial feasibility of launching additional services.
AOT’s engagement comes as
Thailand seeks to improve access from major overseas markets and support
tourism growth. The company also highlighted new routes introduced in 2026,
including Virgin Atlantic’s London–Phuket service, Riyadh Air’s Riyadh–Bangkok
route and LOT Polish Airlines’ Warsaw–Bangkok connection.
These services are
intended to strengthen links between Thailand and key markets in Europe and the
Middle East while giving travelers more options for reaching the country.
Through its participation
in Routes World, AOT is pursuing closer cooperation with airline partners to
identify further opportunities for network development. The discussions could
help shape future route plans and flight capacity, although no additional agreements
arising from the meetings were specified in the announcement.
