Europe-BD chamber to expand trade soon

The President of France-Bangladesh Economic Chamber (FBEC) Kazi Enayet Ullah met with President of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers and Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Md Jasim Uddin on Saturday and discussed the possibility of setting up Europe-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce (EBCC) by the middle of this year.
Kazi Enayet Ullah said EBCC will be implemented by next July and once implemented it will make presence of Bangladeshi products visible in all European cities. Bangladeshi products will be visible in the main European economies. Through this chamber, various activities will be undertaken to enhance bilateral trade and attract European investment, he said. Bangladesh has left many previously independent countries behind in the socio-economic index. But this information is not being presented properly abroad. Due to which Bangladesh is lagging behind in branding its name and products.
Following the recent visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to France, enthusiasm has been created among the expatriate Bangladeshi businessmen in that country. The France-Bangladesh Economic Chamber wants to use this interest to promote Bangladesh in France, he added.
Kazi Enayet Ullah called on the Bangladesh government to create skilled workforce, saying the European labor market has changed dramatically since the Corona epidemic and will need huge overseas manpower.
FBCCI President Md. Jashim Uddin said many Bangladeshis have established themselves abroad as businessmen. He urged them to take a special economic zone in Bangladesh. Highlighting the country's infrastructure, power and investment-friendly policies. The FBCCI chief said the income of the people of Bangladesh is increasing and due to a large number of populations, the domestic market of this country is also huge. Therefore, by investing in this country, expatriates can play a greater role in the economic development of Bangladesh.
He said study is being conducted on London market under the initiative of the FBCCI, adding that the results of the study would be known in the next few months. Based on the research outcome, FBCCI will take necessary measures to popularize Bangladeshi products in foreign markets.
