Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport opens its doors to guests

Dhaka: United Group has officially unveiled the Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport at Centrepoint in the capital’s Uttara area, in collaboration with IHG Hotels and Resorts. The launch marks a notable development in Bangladesh’s growing hospitality industry.
The newly opened hotel offers 284 well-appointed rooms and suites, each thoughtfully designed to provide distinct spaces for work, relaxation, and rest. With a focus on comfort and functionality, the property aims to cater to both business and leisure travelers.
Among its standout features is the 9,000-square-foot Celestial Ballroom, capable of hosting up to 1,100 guests. The hotel also includes versatile meeting venues such as Aurora I, Aurora II, and Mist, making it a suitable destination for corporate gatherings, conferences, and social events.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Hasan Mahmood Raja, Chief Adviser of United Group, who attended as the chief guest. Founding Advisers Akhter Mahmud and KM Ahsan Shamim were also present at the event.
Ashwani Nayar, Area General Manager for South West Asia of IHG and Cluster General Manager of Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport and InterContinental Dhaka, highlighted the significance of the partnership. He stated that the hotel symbolizes a strong collaboration between United Group and IHG, aiming to establish new standards in hospitality within the capital.
Khondaker Zayed Ahsan, Managing Director of IPCO Developments Ltd and IPCO Hotels Ltd, described the project as the result of a challenging yet fulfilling journey achieved through joint efforts. He expressed confidence that the hotel would emerge as a landmark destination in Dhaka.
The event was also attended by Moinduddin Hasan Rashid, Chairman and Managing Director of United Group, along with Directors Nizamuddin Hasan Rashid, Sharfuddin Akhter Rashid, and Kutubuddin Akhter Rashid.
