Inner Wheel helps set up a gynae and obs ward at AMC

Dhaka: At the initiative of the members of the clubs under dist. 345 of Inner Wheel, world’s one of the largest women’s voluntary organization, a new gynae and obstetrics ward has been set up at the Ahsania Mission Cancer and General Hospital (AMCGH) at Uttara in the city.

The President of Dhaka Ahsania Mission Kazi Rafiqul Alam as the chief guest formally inaugurated the newly set up ward at a ceremony held at the hospital premises. Chairman of the Inner Wheel Dist. 345 Dr. Mollika Biswas was present as the special guest.

Members of the Inner Wheel District donated required furniture and equipment for the ward. It may be mentioned here that at the initial stage of the devastating Covid 19 pandemic, Inner Wheel Dist. 345 donated 25 lacs taka for setting up a dedicated Corona ward at the hospital.

Observance of Breast Cancer Day:

In observance of International Breast Cancer Day, Inner Wheel Dist. 345 jointly with Ahsania Mission Cancer and General Hospital jointly undertook a number of programs on October 29 to create general awareness about breast cancer. As part of the program a rally with banners and festoons with various slogans about breast cancer awareness went round the streets near AMCGH. Besides, Inner Wheel members, the rally was participated by doctors, nurses, teachers and students of Ahsania Medical College.

Following the rally, a seminar on breast cancer awareness was organized at the Kazi Rafiqul Alam auditorium of the medical college. The seminar was addressed by Professor Dr. AMM Shariful Alam, Professor Brig. General Suraya Begum (retd.), Dr. Rubama Karim, Dr. Z U Humaira, Professor Dr. Dipak Kumar Sanyal, and Shamima Sharmin Medhna. Dhaka Ahsania Mission President Kazi Rafiqul Alam was the chief guest while Dr. Mallika Biswas, Chairman Inner Wheel Dist. 345 and Professor Dr. Kamruzzaman Chowdhury, Sr. Consultant of AMCGH were the special guests on the occasion.
