Singapore High Commission hosts SCP alumni dinner in Dhaka
Dhaka: The Singapore High
Commission in Dhaka hosted a dinner for Bangladeshi alumni of the Singapore
Cooperation Program (SCP) on August 13, bringing together around 75 former
participants to mark Singapore’s 61st National Day and the SCP’s 34th anniversary.
Held at Sheraton Dhaka, the event provided an opportunity for alumni to reconnect, share experiences and strengthen professional networks developed through training programs in Singapore.
Established in 1992, the
SCP has provided training to more than 160,000 government officials from over
180 countries. More than 2,200 Bangladeshi government officials have
participated in its programs over the years.
Nasreen Jahan, Member (Secretary) of the Socio-Economic Infrastructure Division of the Bangladesh Planning Commission, attended the event as chief guest. In her remarks, she highlighted the importance of continued cooperation and capacity building between Bangladesh and Singapore.

Chargé d’Affaires Mitchel Lee reaffirmed Singapore’s commitment to supporting
partner countries through knowledge sharing and capacity building. He also
thanked Bangladeshi SCP alumni for contributing to public service and national
development.
The High Commission said
it plans to continue strengthening Bangladesh-Singapore ties through training
opportunities, professional exchanges and other collaborative initiatives.
