U.S. Embassy Dhaka introduces two-day processing for immigrant visas

Dhaka: The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka has announced that it will implement a two-day processing system for all immigrant visa categories starting June 1, 2026.

In a notice issued on May 31, the embassy said the new procedure will apply to applicants seeking immigrant visas under all categories.

"Effective June 01, 2026, U.S. Embassy, Dhaka, will implement two-day processing for all immigrant visa categories," the embassy said.

The embassy advised applicants to review the relevant immigrant visa requirements and procedures before attending their appointments. It also encouraged applicants to consult the embassy's visa information resources for details on specific immigrant visa categories.

The move is expected to affect applicants pursuing permanent immigration to the United States through family-based, employment-based, and other eligible immigrant visa programs.
