US ambassador visits Eid cattle market, extends greetings ahead of Eid al-Adha

Dhaka: US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T. Christensen has shared Eid al-Adha greetings after visiting a local cattle market in Bangladesh ahead of the festival.

In a social media post published by the U.S. Embassy in Bangladesh, the ambassador said he enjoyed experiencing the vibrant atmosphere of the sacrificial animal market as families prepare for Eid celebrations.

“Great to experience the energy at the Eid cattle market as families prepare for Eid al-Adha. Wishing everyone a joyful and peaceful celebration,” Ambassador Christensen wrote.

The post also carried the message in Bangla, where the ambassador described the experience of closely observing the lively environment at the cattle market during the busy pre-Eid period.

Eid al-Adha, one of the largest religious festivals for Muslims, is marked by the ritual sacrifice of animals and family gatherings. In Bangladesh, cattle markets across the country witness a surge of buyers and sellers ahead of the festival each year.
