Aarong campaign supports planting of 100,000 trees

According to a press
release, the initiative uses proceeds from the campaign to finance tree
planting and expand green spaces while creating opportunities for rural
households.
Between September 2025
and March 2026, the campaign helped reduce paper bag consumption by more than
4.68 million compared with the same period a year earlier. The reduction is
estimated to have saved around 6,000 trees. Sales of paper bags generated BDT
2.9 crore, which Aarong committed entirely to environmental activities.
Through BRAC's Ultra-Poor
Graduation program, the company funded the distribution of 95,382 fruit, timber
and medicinal saplings to 40,001 households in 210 upazilas across 42
districts.
Aarong has also joined
Mission Green Bangladesh to develop Miyawaki forests using native tree species.
The campaign includes community participation, with customers and media
representatives taking part in a planting event at the Rupganj Miyawaki forest.
The BYOB initiative
remains active at Aarong outlets, offering customers BDT 15 cashback for
bringing reusable bags.
