Bangladesh Monitor Awards FIFA World Cup Quiz Winners

Dhaka: Syed Habibur Rahman from Moulvibazar won the grand prize of a Dhaka–Bangkok–Dhaka returns air ticket for one person, courtesy of US-Bangla Airlines, while Mita Akter from Kallyanpur, Dhaka, received a Dhaka–Cox's Bazar–Dhaka returns air ticket for two persons, courtesy of Air Astra at the FIFA World Cup 2026 Quiz Contest, organized by The Bangladesh Monitor for its readers. Prizes were presented at a ceremony held at the Bangladesh Monitor office at Dhanmondi on August 3.

To engage football enthusiasts during the tournament, The Bangladesh Monitor organized a series of weekly quiz contests featuring multiple-choice questions based on interesting FIFA World Cup facts. The competition attracted more than 5,000 participants from across the country. Each week, one winner was selected through a draw from among those who answered all the questions correctly.

The weekly winners were Syed Habibur Rahman (Moulvibazar), Mita Akter (Kallyanpur, Dhaka), Md. Mirazul Islam (Dhaka University), Tasneem Afrin Meem (Keraniganj), Md. Mahfuz Al Imran (Mirpur, Dhaka), and Md. Nazmus Sakib (Malibagh, Dhaka). The two grand prize winners were selected through a separate draw. All six weekly winners received exclusive FIFA World Cup 2026 souvenirs.

Kazi Wahidul Alam, Editor of The Bangladesh Monitor, presented the prizes to the winners. Congratulating the recipients, he thanked all participants for their enthusiastic response and passion for football. He also expressed his appreciation for the overwhelming participation in the contest and said that The Bangladesh Monitor looks forward to organizing more such interactive events for its readers in the future.

In addition to the readers' contest, an in-house FIFA World Cup quiz competition was organized for the employees. Based on the total marks scored, Md. Shareful Islam Sheikh emerged as the grand prize winner and received a Dhaka–Cox's Bazar–Dhaka returns air ticket for two persons, courtesy of Air Astra. Alamgir Hossain received a Dhaka–Cox's Bazar–Dhaka returns air ticket for one person, courtesy of Air Astra, while Kandker Fazlul Karim won a Dhaka–Sylhet–Dhaka returns air ticket for one person, courtesy of US-Bangla Airlines.

The weekly winners of the in-house competition were Md. Shareful Islam Sheikh, Shahala Akhi, Rasel Mahmud, Mahbub Sultan, Md. Habib, and Idris Pradhania. All weekly winners received special FIFA World Cup 2026 souvenirs in recognition of their outstanding performance.
