Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport wins World Travel Award 2026
The award was presented
at the World Travel Awards Asia, Oceania and Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony in the
Maldives on September 27. The event brought together companies and organizations
from the travel, tourism and hospitality industries across the regions.
Established in 1993, the
World Travel Awards recognizes businesses and destinations across the global
tourism and hospitality sectors. Regional winners advance through the organization’s
annual awards program toward the Grand Final.
Ashwani Nayar, cluster
general manager of InterContinental Dhaka and Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport, said
the recognition was significant not only for the property but also for
Bangladesh’s representation in the international hospitality industry.
He said the award
provides an opportunity to draw greater attention to Bangladesh’s tourism
potential and the standards being developed within its hospitality sector.
Located near Hazrat
Shahjalal International Airport, the hotel caters to both business and leisure
travelers, while also serving passengers and visitors using Dhaka’s main
international aviation gateway.
The property is part of
IHG Hotels and Resorts and provides accommodation, dining, meetings and event
facilities.
The recognition comes as
Bangladesh seeks to expand its international tourism profile and develop
hospitality services around Dhaka’s airport corridor.
The hotel said the award
would further support its focus on international hospitality standards and its
role in the country’s tourism and business travel market.
