Cruise lines turn sailings into floating hubs for music, food, entertainment

Kuala
Lumpur : Cruise holidays are increasingly becoming more than trips between
destinations, with travelers seeking entertainment, dining and lifestyle
experiences that can be enjoyed without leaving the ship.
Dream
Cruises and Star Cruises, under the StarDream Cruises portfolio, are expanding
that approach in 2026 as Dream Cruises celebrates its 10th anniversary. Their
programs combine live shows, celebrity chef appearances, fitness activities and
family entertainment across several sailings.
One
of the major attractions is Forever Broadway, an original production created
for Genting Dream in partnership with Broadway Asia International. Running
through February 10, 2027, the musical brings songs including New York, New
York, Dancing Queen and Greased Lightning to the stage, combining live
performers with cinematic production and an orchestral score.
Music fans will also have an opportunity to see K-pop group KIIRAS during a special concert aboard Genting Dream in October. The event is designed to bring the appeal of live K-pop into the cruise experience.

Food
remains another major part of the offering. Genting Dream recently hosted
French chef Tommie Lee, known as French Papa from Netflix's Culinary Class
Wars, for a cooking demonstration and five-course French dinner.
Malaysian
chef Datuk Chef Wan also hosted demonstrations and guest sessions during a
three-night sailing from Port Klang to Phuket and Penang in May. His program
included specially prepared dishes at The Lido, which has a certified Halal
section.
The
cruise group is also adding wellness and sports experiences. Fitness
personality Kim Jaehong, known as Amotti from Physical: 100, is leading a
Dreamrox training workshop, combining high-intensity exercises with the cruise
format.
Across
Genting Dream, Star Navigator and Star Voyager, guests can also use pools,
restaurants and fitness facilities, with dining options covering Asian and
international cuisines as well as Halal and Jain vegetarian choices.
