Healthtrip.com : One stop solution to medical travel abroad

Dhaka : Healthtrip.com is Asia's fastest growing medical tourism company that provides medical travellers with one stop solutions, said its Assistant Vice President for Bangladesh Jalaj Mehta while talking to The Bangladesh Monitor recently.
Travelling abroad for medical purposes can be challenging. Most of the time patients are unaware of what disease they have, which country or hospital they should go to, or what the cost would be. That is where Healthtrip.com comes in.
Healthtrip.com helps patients from the very beginning of contact till the point of return during a patient's medical travel. The company has tie-ups with hospitals in India, UAE, Thailand and Turkey and it facilitates travel to several renowned hospitals in these aforementioned countries popular for their respective medical treatments.
Once contacted, Healthtrip.com reads the patient's medical reports and prepares a treatment plan. For that, they contact respective doctors. The service provider then provides the patients with the diagnosis, the cost of the treatment, and length of the treatment. They give patients two-three options to where they can go and avail the treatment. They also share the doctor's profile and career work with the patients.
After the treatment plan, Healthtrip.com also helps patients with getting visas.
HealthTrip.com, is headquartered in Singapore while they have offices in Singapore, India, UAE, Bangladesh and Thailand, mentioned Jalaj Mehta, adding, the patients coming to India are mainly from Africa, CIS, Middle East and SAARC countries.
"We have two kinds of teams in every country or destinations we operate in. One group is the hospital managers. They are always in the hospitals taking care of our patients."
"The other group is the guardians who take care of the patients since the beginning. They pick patients up from the airport and drop them off at their hotels. They book the appointment with the doctor the next day. So patients do not have to go through any hassle. Also, patients who come through us are never charged extra at the hospitals than what was earlier committed," said Jalaj Mehta.
It may be mentioned here, the services of Healthtrip.com are completely free!
"We are a fully funded medical tourism company. We don't take charge the patients for our consultancy services," said Jalaj.
"We aim to satisfy the patients with our services so that they return home happily," added Jalaj.
Healthtrip has partners and offices in Bangladesh and Jalaj mentioned millions of Bangladeshis are travelling abroad for medical purposes. However, without such a consultant, the trips turn out to be unorganised, explained Jalaj, saying that is why they provide these services.
In the near future, Healthtrip plans to work with Bangladeshi hospitals too.
"We wish to invite foreign doctors in Bangladesh. We want to organise hands on training at surgical camps where foreign doctors and local doctors can exchange their experiences. It will work for mutual benefit," said Jalaj.
He also mentioned Bangladeshis are travelling to Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Mumbai for medical purposes.
