Indonesia’s GMF AeroAsia to run Oman’s aviation maintenance facility

The agreement was signed
by GMF CEO Andi Fahrurrozi and Oman CAA President Naif Ali Al-Abri on the
sidelines of the Civil Aviation Investment Forum in Muscat.
Under the deal, GMF will
develop and operate a hangar and supporting infrastructure in phases, expanding
its presence in the Middle East and positioning itself to serve airlines across
the region.
Fahrurrozi said the
facility would bring the company closer to customers in the Middle East and
surrounding markets, while opening opportunities to serve a broader aircraft
maintenance sector.
Oman’s CAA will provide
the concession, own the hangar and oversee regulatory compliance and aviation
safety standards.
According to the
authority, the facility is intended to offer heavy maintenance and periodic
inspection services for national, regional and international airline fleets.
The project also aims to strengthen Muscat’s role as a regional aviation
maintenance hub.
The initiative is
expected to support technology and knowledge transfer in airframe, engine and
avionics maintenance, while creating specialized employment opportunities for
Omani workers.
GMF has been pursuing
international expansion, including through industry engagement with potential
regional partners at aviation maintenance exhibitions.
