Kabir Watches & Co brings five new Swiss watch brands in Bangladesh

Dhaka : Arafat Mohammad Kabir, Founder of Kabir Watches and Co has recently become the distributor of five world-renowned Swiss watch brands Aerowatch, Mathey-Tissot, Cornavin, Claude Bernard, and Richelieu in Bangladesh, by formally launching these premium brands through an event held at Hotel Sheraton Dhaka.
Along with these brands, Kabir also brought the master Swiss watchmaker from Switzerland Sebastian Rousseau in Bangladesh to show watch enthusiasts, wholesalers and retailers of the country how rare, complicated, handmade and expensive mechanical Swiss watches are made.
Through the launch event, Kabir introduced medium level Swiss watches in the Bangladesh market that are below BDT 1 lac in price, while Rousseau brought forth to the Bangladeshi people expensive mechanical watches made by him that function till generations to come.
"Swiss mechanical watches as a whole function for at least two generations while the mechanical movement of the watches functions for 300 years. Hence, when you buy a Swiss watch, you don't buy it for yourself, rather for generations to come," said the master Swiss mechanical watchmaker Sebastian Rousseau.
With the launch of the new varieties of Swiss watches, Bangladeshi people now have more great options to choose from. With the growing economy of the country, people in Bangladesh are currently witnessing higher purchase power and luxury, making it the best time to launch these five new premium brands, added Arafat Mohammad Kabir, Founder of Kabir Watches and Co.
"Bangladeshis are not familiar with many Swiss watch brands which are as old as the others, equally good in culture, same in quality and history or maybe even better. Hence, I chose to launch these five new brands to the Bangladesh market," Kabir shared.
"We are currently holding B2B activities in the country, in efforts to encourage wholesalers and retailers to order these five brands from us and be exclusive distributors. They can target corporates, high officials and businessmen of the country."
"We are also in efforts to reach out to other companies which are not in the watch business yet but would like to diversify their products. Swiss watches can be a great addition in that regard."
"Online shops could also opt for selling luxury items online, that is another untapped segment in the Bangladesh market."
Along with the wrist watches, K&C is selling accessories through B2B.
Prices for timepieces range from BDT 10,000 up to BDT 80,000, depending on the various movements and complications. K&C provides two-years international warranty from the date of purchase.
Arafat Mohammad Kabir, a Geneva-based Bangladeshi entrepreneur, founded Kabir Watches and Co about 25 years ago in Switzerland. Kabir Watches retails world-famous, luxurious Swiss watch brands locally and imports the timepieces to Bangladesh also.
Kabir Watches and Co organised a three-day B2B Brand Launch event in the first week of December which business as well as corporate leaders from Swiss-Bangla Chamber of Commerce, DCC, BIDA, Abul Khair Group, Well Food, Babylon, Radisson Blu, S Alam Group, Pacific Group, Uttara Club, Aman Group and Swiss Embassy attended.
