Dhaka: Biman Bangladesh Airlines has announced that it will resume the previously suspended Dhaka–Sylhet–Manchester route from July 1, following government directives and strong demand from passengers, particularly Bangladeshi expatriates in the United Kingdom.

The decision was taken under the guidance of Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita and State Minister M Rasheduzzaman Milat, reflecting the government’s initiative to strengthen international connectivity, read a press release.

According to Biman, the Dhaka–Sylhet–Manchester flights will resume after the completion of the upcoming Hajj operations. Initially, the airline will operate two weekly flights on Saturdays and Tuesdays.

Flight schedule (local time):

- Departure from Dhaka at 10:55 am; departure from Sylhet at 12:50 pm; arrival in Manchester at 10:55 pm

- Departure from Manchester at 9:00 pm; arrival in Sylhet the next day at 11:50 am; arrival in Dhaka at 1:30 pm

Earlier, the route had been temporarily suspended since March 1 to maintain operational stability and ensure optimal use of the airline’s limited fleet.

Officials said the relaunch of this key international route is expected to significantly ease travel for passengers, especially the Bangladeshi community living in the UK.

Passengers are advised to contact Biman sales centers, IATA-approved travel agencies, the airline’s call center, or its official website for ticket bookings and further information.
