Dhaka : Tourist visas for the United Arab Emirates will reopen in February 2025, announced Abdullah Al Hamoudi, Ambassador of the UAE to Bangladesh, during a reception program in Dubai on December 23, 2024.
The Bangladeshi community in Dubai hosted the reception for the newly appointed Ambassador of Bangladesh to the UAE Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey, who holds the rank of Senior Secretary. Speaking on the occasion, Hamoudi made the announcement.
While addressing the event as the chief guest, Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey, Ambassador of Bangladesh to the UAE, said, "During the July uprising, some expatriates protested in the UAE despite knowing the consequences. I do not know how to properly honor their sacrifices. We must remember to be more proactive in adhering to the rules in our respective workplaces."
He further mentioned, "The contribution of Bangladeshis to the UAE's development is undeniable. From roads to important infrastructure and skyscrapers, the sweat of Bangladeshi workers is embedded in everything. We hope the UAE government will be more sincere in recruiting skilled workers in various professions. I urge them to give more importance to visas for doctors, engineers, IT professionals, and unskilled workers from Bangladesh."
The UAE Ambassador to Bangladesh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Khasif Al Hamoudi said, the visa complexities for Bangladeshis would be resolved between January and mid-February 2025, and all types of visas, including travel visas, would be available.
UAE visas are currently closed for many countries, including Bangladesh.
It may be mentioned here, the number of Bangladeshis in the UAE was around 700,000 to 800,000 a few years ago. Now it has exceeded 1.2 million-highest compared to other countries.
