Dhaka: National Hotel and Tourism Training Institute celebrated International Chefs Day through grand festivities at its premise in the capital on October 20.
The institute’s Department of Food and Beverage Production organized several events throughout the day to celebrate the occasion, with support from Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation and Hotel Sarina Dhaka.
NHTTI has been celebrating the occasion from 2014. This year, the day began with a rally in front of NHTTI’s premise at Mohakhali. Later, a food competition was held by the Department of Food and Beverage Production of the institute.

Channa Ekanayake, General Manager; Dhaithya Krawage, Executive Chef, Hotel Sarina Dhaka; Mohammad Moinuddin Hayat, Principal; and Jaheda Begum, Head of F&B Production; National Hotel and Tourism Training Institute, were present on the occasion, along with NHTTI alumni who are now renowned chefs.
Trainees of the department participated in the contest in groups. The contestants prepared and presented several delectable multi-cuisine items.
