Grand Hyatt Hotel groundbreaking ceremony took place in Dhaka

Dhaka: International hotel chain Grand Hyatt's groundbreaking ceremony was held on November 21 in the capital. The hotel will be located inside the MGI Tower, Meghna Group of Industries (MGI)'s under-construction project.
China State Construction Engineering Corporation 7th Bureau (CSCEC7B) is the project's construction partner. CSCEC7B is a specialised division known for its expertise in high-profile projects in China and internationally.
MGI Tower is set to be an iconic building in Dhaka City, said a release. It was designed by Chicago-based architectural, urban planning and engineering firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM), the visionaries behind iconic landmarks such as Burj Khalifa and many others.
MGI Chairman and Managing Director Mostafa Kamal, Vice Chairman Beauty Akter, Group Directors Tanveer Mostafa, Tahmina Mostafa, Tanjima Mostafa and Tasnim Mostafa, Senior Executive Director Taif Bin Yousuf, Executive Director and Head of Export Sameera Rahman, Project Director Sanjay, CSCEC7B Executive General Manager Su Yan, Project Manager from CSCEC7B Xu Jiapin and others were present at the groundbreaking ceremony.
The Tower is located on the side of Hatirjheel. The impressive building will consist of six underground floors and 39 above-ground floors, reaching a total height of 152.4 metres and covering a total floor area of 146,000 square metres.
The USA-based Hyatt Hotels Corporation was founded in 1957. Currently, the corporation has 1,335 hotels in 76 countries. Grand Hyatt is one of its most popular hotel chain brands.
