HANSA named top designer hotel at SATA 2026

Dhaka: HANSA – A Premium Residence has won the "Leading Designer Hotel" award at the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2026, according to a statement on October 19.
Shakawath Hossain, Chief Executive Officer of Unique Hotel & Resorts PLC, received the award on behalf of the property.
HANSA said the recognition underscores its standing in the regional hospitality sector and reflects the weight the hotel places on thoughtful design, functional spaces, personalized service, and attention to detail in creating memorable experiences.
It called the win another milestone in its push toward hospitality excellence, noting that design plays a central role in shaping a property's identity and balancing aesthetics with comfort and functionality.
M. A. Kalam Talukdar, General Manager of HANSA, said the award reflects the care put into the hotel's design, adding that the goal was to build a space that feels modern and comfortable while staying rooted in local heritage.
"For us, good design is not just about how a place looks; it’s about how it makes people feel and the experience they take away with them," he said. The recognition will encourage the property to keep developing its design vision while highlighting local identity.
HANSA thanked its guests, business partners, and stakeholders for their continued support and credited its staff for maintaining service standards and delivering what it described as a distinctive hospitality experience.
HANSA is part of Unique Hotel & Resorts PLC, the group behind The Westin Dhaka and Sheraton Dhaka. While the group has an established presence in Bangladesh's premium hospitality segment, HANSA has been building its own identity as a locally developed brand.
The hotel focuses on business travelers, corporate guests, and visitors seeking comfort and personalized service in Dhaka.
Following the SATA 2026 win, HANSA said it plans to build on the recognition by strengthening its design-led identity, deepening ties with guests and partners, and contributing to the growth of Bangladesh's hospitality industry.
