SIA suffers second tire incident on same route days apart

The latest event involved
flight SQ114 from Singapore Changi Airport to Kuala Lumpur International
Airport. After landing, the aircraft reportedly suffered a double-tire blowout,
requiring maintenance before it could return to service.
The incident closely
resembles an occurrence on June 13, when another Singapore Airlines 737 MAX 8
operating the same flight number experienced a double-tire failure upon arrival
in Kuala Lumpur. That event led to a temporary runway closure and flight
disruptions at the Malaysian airport.
Notably, the two
incidents involved different aircraft. The latest flight was operated by
aircraft registration 9V-MBA, while the earlier event involved 9V-MBN,
suggesting the issue was not limited to a single airframe.
No injuries were reported
in either incident.
The June 13 tire failure
forced airport authorities to close one runway for several hours while debris
was cleared and safety inspections were completed. Singapore Airlines later
canceled the affected return flight before returning the aircraft to service following
repairs.
