CAAB launches free shuttle for passengers at Dhaka Airport

Dhaka: The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has launched a free shuttle service for passengers arriving at and departing from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).
HSIA Executive Director Group Captain S. M. Ragib Samad formally inaugurated the service on July 8 at a ceremony held in front of the airport canopy.
Funded by CAAB, the service will operate under the guidance of the Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister and State Minister and under the supervision of the CAAB Chairman.
The shuttle will run on three routes: Airport to Airport Bus Stand, Jasimuddin More to Airport Railway Station, and Kawla to Airport.
Passengers will be able to travel between key junctions of the airport free of charge, quickly, safely, and comfortably, according to CAAB.
The initiative is expected to particularly benefit senior citizens, women, children, passengers with physical disabilities, and those carrying heavy luggage.
CAAB said the service would also help ease traffic congestion around the airport, support an environmentally friendly transport system, and improve overall passenger service quality.
Speaking as chief guest, HSIA Executive Director Samad said CAAB has been continuously introducing modern initiatives to improve service quality for passengers using the country's main international airport and to ensure travel comfort and international-standard airport services.
He added that the free shuttle service is part of this ongoing effort and will help save passengers' time while ensuring safer travel and improved service.
CAAB said it remains committed to the principle of "Honored Passengers First" and will continue introducing timely, public-welfare initiatives aimed at improving passenger services and ensuring safe, comfortable, and internationally standard travel experiences in the future.
