France eyes extended aerospace cooperation with Bangladesh

Dhaka: France has expressed strong interest in expanding cooperation with Bangladesh's aerospace sector, as senior French officials held talks with the Prime Minister's Adviser and Spokesperson Mahdi Amin on June 11 to explore opportunities for deeper economic engagement.
French Ambassador Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet and visiting Head of the Regional Economic Department for South Asia Florent Mangin met the adviser to discuss the new government's priorities and identify areas where French expertise and investment could support Bangladesh's development agenda.
According to the French Embassy, aerospace emerged as one of the key sectors of mutual interest, alongside energy, disaster management, and defense, with French companies increasingly looking to partner with Bangladesh.
Mangin is visiting Bangladesh to gain a better understanding of the government's economic and development priorities and to assess how French businesses can contribute to the country's long-term growth.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and creating new opportunities for French investment, particularly in high-value industries where France has global expertise.
Ambassador Séré-Charlet reaffirmed France's continued commitment to Bangladesh's development, describing France as a trusted and attentive partner ready to support the country's economic transformation.
The meeting also underscored the growing interest of French companies in participating in Bangladesh's development initiatives as the country seeks to modernize key sectors and diversify international partnerships.
