UAE tightens entry rules amid Ebola outbreak concerns

Dhaka: The United Arab Emirates has imposed entry restrictions on travelers who have recently visited the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Uganda, or South Sudan amid heightened concerns over the Ebola virus.
The restrictions took effect June 6 at 1:00 pm Dubai time and remain in force until further notice. Under the measures, travelers will be denied entry unless they have been outside the three affected countries for more than 21 days.
Passengers transiting through the UAE must additionally comply with the entry requirements of their final destination. The restrictions apply to all travelers, regardless of whether they arrive via direct or indirect routings.
Beyond the UAE, several other countries have also introduced travel entry restrictions or enhanced screening measures in response to the Ebola situation.
Emirates has urged customers to check the official entry requirements of their destination country before traveling.
