FedEx launches digital tools to help businesses manage global shipping

Memphis
: FedEx has introduced a new set of digital tools aimed at helping businesses
handle customs, duties and other requirements involved in international
shipments.
Called
Global Trade Navigator, the service brings together tools covering the shipping
process from planning and documentation to customs clearance and reporting.
FedEx said the initiative is intended to help businesses identify potential
issues earlier and reduce unexpected costs.
The
launch comes as international sellers face growing challenges around import
rules and delivery charges. According to FedEx's 2026 Small Business Trade
Index, 68 percent of small and medium-sized businesses said their customers are
regularly surprised by duties at delivery, while 60 percent reported revenue
losses from refunds or abandoned purchases.
Among
the new offerings is FedEx Trade Planner, a free online tool that allows
businesses to check Harmonized System codes, estimated duties and taxes, fees
and documentation requirements before shipping.
FedEx
Ship Manager will also provide enhanced options for reviewing product
classifications, customs values and country-of-origin information.
For
online merchants, a new Duty and Tax app for Shopify will allow import costs to
be displayed during checkout.
FedEx
is also making trade information available through APIs, while updates to its
Import Tool and Reporting services will provide greater visibility into customs
activity, payments and international trade data.
