US-Bangla Airlines to operate special Abu Dhabi flight to repatriate stranded Bangladeshis

Dhaka: US-Bangla Airlines will operate a special humanitarian flight to Abu Dhabi to repatriate Bangladeshi nationals stranded in the United Arab Emirates amid the ongoing Middle East crisis.

The airline will run the service on the Dhaka–Chattogram–Abu Dhabi–Dhaka route on March 4 to facilitate the safe return of affected passengers, according to a release.

As per schedule, the outbound flight, BS349, is set to depart Dhaka at 18:35 for Abu Dhabi via Chattogram. It will leave Chattogram at 20:20 for the UAE capital. The return leg, BS350, will depart Abu Dhabi at 01:00 on March 5 and operate nonstop to Dhaka.

The service will be conducted using a 189-seat Boeing 737-800, ensuring sufficient capacity for passengers requiring urgent travel.

The Abu Dhabi Airport Authority has granted special permission to US-Bangla Airlines and other international carriers to operate humanitarian flights in view of the prevailing situation.

Separately, 28 flight crew members of Biman Bangladesh Airlines have remained stranded in various UAE destinations since February 28 due to the conflict.

US-Bangla Airlines has also arranged a special Dubai–Dhaka flight, BS342, on March 4 to bring them back home.

The airline said priority will be given to Bangladeshi nationals whose visas have expired or are nearing expiration, ensuring timely repatriation for those facing uncertainty abroad.
