Narendra Modi becomes India’s longest-serving elected PM


As of June 10, Modi
completed 4,399 consecutive days in office. He first assumed the role in May
2014 and has since been re-elected for three successive terms, marking over a
decade in leadership.
The milestone has drawn
congratulations from several world leaders, who highlighted his long tenure and
influence on India’s domestic and international standing.
Malaysia’s Prime Minister
Anwar Ibrahim described the achievement as a reflection of Modi’s sustained
public service and leadership in India’s development journey. Sri Lankan
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake also extended greetings, noting the
importance of continued cooperation between the two countries.
The US Ambassador to
India likewise acknowledged the milestone, crediting Modi’s years in office and
contributions to national governance.
Modi’s extended tenure
places him among the most enduring democratic leaders globally, underscoring
political continuity in India since 2014.
