Bangladesh seeks expanded educational migration to Japan


Dhaka:
Bangladesh has stepped up efforts to expand educational migration to Japan,
with Ambassador to Japan Md. Daud Ali urging greater academic cooperation and
student exchange programmes during a meeting with a delegation from Shumei
University.
The
meeting took place at the Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo on July 14, where both
sides discussed ways to strengthen higher education links between the two
countries, read a release from the embassy.
Shumei
University, a private university in Chiba Prefecture, currently hosts more than
400 international students, including 16 from Bangladesh.
Highlighting
Bangladesh's demographic advantage, Ambassador Daud Ali said more than one
million students enrol in undergraduate and higher education programmes every
year, creating significant opportunities for expanding bilateral educational
cooperation.
He
underscored the strong language aptitude, academic potential and adaptability
of Bangladeshi students, proposing the introduction of faculty and student
exchange programmes to deepen academic and cultural ties between Bangladesh and
Japan.
The
Shumei University delegation praised the academic performance and discipline of
Bangladeshi students studying at the university and expressed keen interest in
admitting more students from Bangladesh in the coming years.
The
university also welcomed the proposal to strengthen bilateral cooperation
through expanded faculty and student exchanges, signalling growing
opportunities for Bangladeshi students seeking higher education in Japan.
Japan
has emerged as an increasingly attractive destination for Bangladeshi students
and skilled professionals amid the country's growing demand for international
talent and expanding academic partnerships with Bangladesh.
