Dhaka: Airlines around the world faced a difficult operating environment in 2025, grappling with airspace closures, weather volatility, and aircraft availability issues. Yet, several carriers managed to outperform the industry, according to Cirium’s On-Time Performance Review 2025.
Qatar Airways wins platinum award
Qatar Airways was named Cirium’s Platinum Winner Airline, recognizing its overall operational excellence. The carrier achieved 84.42 percent on-time performance across nearly 200,000 flights, improving on its 2024 results.
Cirium credited the airline’s ability to protect critical connections and dynamically reroute aircraft during disruptions, stating that “Qatar got passengers where they needed to go.”
Aeroméxico tops global punctuality
For the second consecutive year, Aeroméxico ranked as the world’s most punctual airline based purely on OTP.

It delivered 90.02 percent punctuality across 188,859 flights.
Regional airline leaders
Asia Pacific: Philippine Airlines led the region with 83.12 percent punctuality, a notable achievement given congestion at its Manila hub.

Most improved airline
Virgin Atlantic earned Cirium’s Most Improved Airline award after boosting its punctuality to 83.45 percent, a sharp rise from 74.01 percent in 2023.
