Dhaka: Eastern Bank has entered into a partnership with SOS Children's Village International in Bangladesh (SOSCV). This collaboration will see EBL funding the total medical expenses for all the children of the village, and vocational training for 100 youths at the SOS Vocational Training Centre (VTC) in Bangladesh during 2025.
Ahmed Shaheen, Additional Managing Director of EBL handed over cheques to Dr. Md. Enamul Haque, National Director of SOSCV to support the initiatives, at a ceremony held the bank’s head office in the city’s Gulshan area.
Dr. Md. Enamul Haque, said, ‘We are eagerly anticipating this collaboration with Eastern Bank. Their generous contribution will greatly impact the lives of the children and youths we support. We are deeply grateful to EBL for their dedication to aiding our most vulnerable communities.’
Ahmed Shaheen, said, ‘This is a great opportunity to work closely with SOSCV in healthcare and youth skill development. At EBL, whatever we do we do it for societal development. A shared prosperity can only be achieved through meaningful and right partnerships. This partnership aims at enhancing the quality of life and prospects of our youth population served by SOSCV.’
The cheque handover ceremony was attended by SOSCV Portfolio Manager ASIA/Program Development and Strategy SOS-Kinderdörfer, Thoralf Mueller, Children’s Village International Representative Asia, Rajneesh Jain, Deputy Director of Fund Development and Communications Rashal Mia, and Corporate Fundraising representative Md.
